Horse Training - Arena




A trusting horse will do what the rider asks. Teaching horse and rider how to successfully drag items.Making friends with a new untrained horses is easier from the back of another horse.Socializing horses is important.Horse and rider are working together to close an opened gate.Just getting the horse used to a standard Blue Tarp. Training to stake out a horse is important for the horse to learn, so they don't get injured.Horses learn to drag a tire like it is a calf. This is the first part of the dragging lesson.Learning to pack just about anything.Working several horses together develops social skills.Gates are a challenge. Different gates require different movements by the horse and rider. Horse is being asked to cross a bridge.We have an outside round pen that is jointed to the front of our enclosed arena.Horses are encouraged to push and move the ball around the arena.Mattress walking = soft mushy feeling of thick mud or marshy ground.Horses get comfortable doing what rider asks.First time with a saddle on.This mustang has recently been introduced to a rider.Arena includes tack room, classroom and large indoor arena with a round pen for all weather use. Bridges make sounds and can have movement, unsettling to most horses. Riding across a trap involves sight, strange sound and sensations.
